Theres a thread going around claiming $3.8M in 10 months selling digital products. 15 steps, starts with making an X account and ends with "retire from your job." And the mechanics he describes — AI generate tweets from a top influencer's content, auto post 10 a day, auto DM a product link to everyone who engages — those are real. You can actually do that.
The numbers though? Lets actually do the math instead of just believing the screenshot.
$200-1,500 a month from a PDF you wrote once. Thats not $3.8M but its also not nothing — especially when the cost to create it was your time and $8 for an X blue checkmark.
The model works. The numbers just dont work the way the guy claims unless he already has a massive following, which of course he does, which is how he sells the dream to people who dont.
Look at accounts like YourPrimePath on X. Faceless account. "Insights to become the best version of yourself." Links to Gumroad products. No face, no personal brand, no sales calls. Just content → product link → collect money. Simple enough that its almost boring.
The mechanics: pick a topic people are emotional about (money, health, self-improvement, productivity). Post consistently. Use AI to help generate volume. Gate your best stuff behind engagement — "comment GROWTH and I'll DM you the guide." That floods your post with comments, gives you a warm lead list, and starts a DM conversation.
What would I actually sell? Stuff I've done. Cold email playbook from running 50k emails a month. Outreach templates for financial services. SEO checklist from ranking local businesses to page 1. AI agent setup guide from building ReadForge and the outreach engine. All things I have direct experience with, not stuff I googled and reformatted.
You can use AI to generate 300 posts in 15 minutes. You can put words in a document and sell it 1000x for $50+ each. The product costs you nothing to produce and nothing to fulfill. No inventory, no shipping, no calls.
Its the simplest business model that actually works. Its not going to make you $3.8M in 10 months unless you're already famous. But $1-5k a month from a product you built once? Thats real and thats enough to change a lot of peoples situations.
Add 3-5 affiliate links inside the product for tools you actually use. Thats passive revenue on top of sales. Someone buys your cold email playbook, sees you recommend Smartlead, clicks your affiliate link, you make another $20-50 for doing nothing extra.
The key nobody talks about: the product is a vehicle for the distribution. The content is what drives everything. The product just converts attention into money. Which brings it back to the same thing — distribution is the skill that matters.
